Cutwork and Castles.

My homework for the Easter holidays was to complete the stitching on this cutwork mat. It is all worked in button hole stitch, which I have found I enjoy, and I have used a varigated green floss from Anchor. We will be cutting it out on Wednesday morning in class.

The other finish I have is part 21 of my Castles in the Air project.

I heard from Yvonne at Papillon Creations that there are two more parts to go so I guess each one will contain two circle filler-in-er's (I know that is not a word but I know what I mean. LOL)
A close up of the last part.

We have Steve's Mum and Dad arriving soon to spend some time with us over this Bank Holiday weekend so I don't expect I'll be doing much stitching. When I can get on, I'll be doing the may Bent Creek Snapper and then  back to one of my (many) UFO's.
Bye for now.

Back from Devon and a couple of updates.

We had a wonderful time in Deveon. The sun shone and we had several lovely, lazy days on the beach collecting fossils and rockpooling.
I have now completed all the stitching and beading on my tissue case.

It just needs making up now, something I am dreading as I don't want to ruin all my hard work.

I have also made progress on my stylish peacocks project. I love to take it away as it only has one colour of thread to worry about. The blackwork takes me ages but after a bit of frogging (where I went wildly wrong) I am now thoroughly enjoying this project.

The next part of my castles project is out so I will be stitching that now.
We have another long weekend coming up (thanks to the Royal Wedding) so hopefully I will have more stitchy progress to show you soon.
Bye for now.

A little break in Devon.

Later today, the children break up from school for the Easter holidays and we will be setting off to beautiful Devon for a long and well-earned (by Mr Midge) break.
It will take us close on 5 hours to drive down depending on traffic so I plan on reading for most of the journey as I am unable to stitch in a car.
I am taking my stylish peacocks project with me as it is easily transportable and only uses one colour of thread - progress pic on my return.
I have almost completed all the stitching on the pearl tissue case so you will also get an update on that when I get home as the camera is packed and ready to go.
See you in a week or so.

Great Wall of China - update.

This has driven me bonkers!! Loads of confetti and colour changes - no wonder it was a UFO.
I have completed the next page.
I am going to continue with my Pearl Tissue Case and see if I can get that complete before the Easter hols.
Bye for now and thanks for looking in.
